Scratching the surface of the Auchincloss clan may lead to some interesting questions.

Introduction

Everywhere we look, there is an opportunity to learn something. Some things are easier to discover than others. Then there are topics where you almost have to play a game of connect-the-dots to get your brain saying, “Ahh.” Here is one of those instances.

This article involves three individuals. The facts will be laid out about each one, and you will be left to decide what rabbit hole, if any, you want to pursue by looking further into them.

Individual #1: Jake Auchincloss

Who is he? Jake is serving his 2nd term as a Democrat member of the U. S. House of Representatives representing the Massachusetts Fourth District.

According to a press release dated September 3, 2021, Auchincloss helped launch the COVID-19 Global Vaccination Caucus along with Ed Markey of Massachusetts as one of the co-chairs.

“This caucus will advocate for the one solution that has proven to work and that majority of Americans and scientists agree is crucial to ending the pandemic: vaccines.”1

Auchincloss supports using taxpayer dollars to fund the building of additional migrant shelters and provide additional resources for those seeking a pathway to citizenship. In a letter dated October 6, 2023, to Democrat State Senator Mark Pacheco, Auchincloss stated:

“You may be pleased to know that I am a cosponsor of the bipartisan Dignity for Immigrants while Guarding our Nation to Ignite and Deliver the American Dream Act of 2023 or the “DIGNIDAD” (DIGNITY) Act. The legislation is a comprehensive proposal, incorporating border security, a fair and orderly pathway to citizenship, and root-cause solutions.”

“I will support robust funding for the Shelter and Services Program, which provides states with additional support for increased migrant arrivals.”2

Individual #2: Hugh Auchincloss

Who is he? Hugh Auchincloss is the father of Jack Auchincloss and currently serves as Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) after the retirement of Anthony Fauci.

According to the NIH, Hugh Auchincloss is the point of contact for the Emergency Use Authorization program. The FDA describes the Emergency Use Authorization below:

“Under section 564 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act), when the Secretary of HHS declares that an emergency use authorization is appropriate, FDA may authorize unapproved medical products or unapproved uses of approved medical products to be used in an emergency to diagnose, treat, or prevent serious or life-threatening diseases or conditions caused by CBRN threat agents when certain criteria are met, including there are no adequate, approved, and available alternatives.”3

Individual #3: Laurie Glimcher

Who is she? Laurie Glimcher is the mother of Jake Auchincloss and currently serves as the President and CEO of Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

In January 2024, Dr. Sholto David accused Glimcher and three other researchers of “data forgery.” There are currently three research papers in question from Glimcher. A brief description of the matters regarding the papers is discussed below.

“The papers, published between 1999 and 2017, most commonly have duplications of blots, bands, and plots within images, David alleged. In a Saturday interview, David said he used a combination of artificial intelligence image analysis software ImageTwin and manual detection to look for errors in the papers.

In an emailed statement to The Crimson Wednesday, [Senior Vice President for Experimental Medicine Irene M.] Ghobrial wrote that she was “aware” of the allegations and had submitted corrections to Clinical Cancer Research and Blood journals, where most of her disputed papers were published, but chose not to respond to David. She wrote that editors of the journals to which she had submitted corrections had not yet responded as of Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the Journal of Clinical Oncology wrote that [Executive Vice President and COO William C.] Hahn had already submitted a corrected version of an image from a 2011 paper and that the journal was in the process of publishing an erratum.

Glimcher, Hahn, and Anderson did not respond to requests for comment.”4

These accusations resulted in 37 papers being corrected or retracted by Dana Farber. An investigation is ongoing.
