Public meetings about the largest project affecting Southeast Massachusetts communities are being held in several of the region’s cities. The project overlaps with the several other goals of the state, including the MBTA Communities Act and ResilientMass.

June 13, 2024 – MBTA General Manager Phil Eng will hold public meetings on the and the South Coast Rail Project tonight at 5:30 p.m. in Fall River and 7:30 p.m. in New Bedford.
At full build the project will extend the Stoughton Line south to connect to the New Bedford and Fall River lines. Once the Stoughton line is completed the estimated cost of the entire project at full build is $3.42 billion, with completion planned for 2030.-by Alice Elwell

Our work includes community master plans, regional transportation and bicycle projects, habitat restoration and watershed protection, build-out and fiscal impact scenarios, transit planning, zoning bylaws, drone surveys and 3d interior photography, economic development and infrastructure initiatives, and more.1
The Southeastern Massachusetts Metropolitan Planning Organization (SMMPO)
The SMMPO, a subgroup of SRPEDD, is responsible for conducting the federally required metropolitan transportation planning process for the 27 communities that comprise Southeastern Massachusetts. This planning process is often called the 3C (continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive).2
The 13 SMMPO members are comprised of Mayors, state agencies, regional entities, and municipalities.
Shaunna O’Connell Mayor, City of Taunton, is a member of SMMPO.

O’Connell’s Influence
Shaunna O’Connell is the Mayor of Taunton, a designated Gateway City. Shaunna is loved by the establishment, including their sycophant media host Howie Carr,3 and was taken under RINO Charlie Baker’s wing early on in her political career. Shaunna recently raised over a hundred thousand dollars for her Inaugural Ball at Gillette Stadium, most of which came from developers.4 She is now the current GOP Massachusetts State Commiteewoman.5
Joining the SMMPO in 2021 gave her the power of the purse over federal funds for more than 27 towns in the Southshore, access to many construction, real estate, and transportation company bidders across the state and beyond. By joining SRPEDD, she has signed on to Biden’s Green New Deal that will make our towns borderless and bankrupt.
