After I published Coming Out, I knew I had to correct the record regarding one of my most personal and favorite pieces. I got huffy, and I conflated my experience of gay life in the 60s and 70s and today’s trans explosion. Talk about being an old fogey, harkening back to the good ole days when gays were homosexuals, and folks just figured it out – outside of the classroom. I admit it gives me a kick when my cocky “I know more than you do” and “I was there first” stance slows the roll of the skimming-the-surface SJWs. But now, who’s skimming the surface? Let’s break it down.
Gender Ideology wasn’t even a thing when I was crawling the clubs with the fags and dykes – we used these terms lovingly in those days. Gender Ideology didn’t start its creepy slither into our collective consciousness until the 80s while I was slogging my way through the soul-crushing depression that ruled my life. Was I fumbling around in the straight world by choice, or did I drift there because I was…well…drifting? At any rate, my position on the gay/straight/bi/whatever has always been and still is, “So what?” Be who you are – if you’re lucky enough to know who you are.
My intent in Coming Out was not to assert that being gay or lesbian was a walk in the park or a turn in the disco cage because I know how difficult, and often dangerous, it was for many youths and adults to live comfortably, be it in or outside the closet. There was no wholesale indoctrination or pressure to affirm your identity. It was a solo flight, with solace for many found in the bars, rest stops, or drugs and alcohol. That said, being gay, straight, or bi did not have irreversible medical repercussions. Gender reassignment surgery was not common, much less aggressively marketed to minors. Why is that? What’s the end game? Think about this:
Marxist Critical Theory has taken a foothold in our schools. Why now? Marxist ideology is based on freeing the oppressed: the working class then and the marginalized (read: not straight, white, or both) now. The Second Red Scare of the 50s and 60s never materialized here because, before the globalists and corporatists outsourced huge sectors of our industry, we had a vibrant middle class that couldn’t relate to the Communist movement. Enter Identity Politics. Identity politics provides the perfect breeding ground for Marxist thought. Think CRT, DEI, and Gender Ideology. Indoctrinating the youth and disrupting the family is the key to launching all totalitarian governments. Transactivist writer Rosa Lee puts it:
“In a different era, Marxists spoke of the construction of a ‘new socialist man’ as a crucial task in the broader process of socialist construction. Today, in a time of both rising fascism and an emergent socialist movement, our challenge is transsexualising [sic] our Marxism. We should think [of] the project of transition to communism in our time—communisation [sic]—as including the transition to new communist selves, new ways of being and relating to one another.”1
Huh?
The Medical Industrial Complex has its greedy, grubby hands all over our children. It was 2013 when much of the seed money to kickstart the trans/queer theory movement came from Hyatt heir, Jennifer Pritzker. Not surprisingly, our Lefty press celebrated her as “the first trans billionaire.”
A transwoman herself (of course she is), Jennifer, along with other uber-moneyed individuals, began to donate to universities, hospitals, and activist organizations to promote transgenderism in our schools’ curriculum and society at large. In 2019, Jennifer’s cousin, the newly elected Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, signed legislation mandating queer theory be included in school curriculums and Medicaid fund gender-affirming care, including surgery. Two years later, Illinois published its radical sex education guidelines for grades K-12. Scary stuff. Chicago’s Children’s Hospital is rife with everything from gender-affirming counseling and non-invasive procedures for minors without parental consent, kink literature, breast binders, prosthetic penises – free dildos, anyone? Much of this is available on-site through its partnerships with public schools.
Although the trans movement has nothing to do with the quaint notion of sexual preference, many youths who would otherwise come out as gay or lesbian are encouraged to change their gender. When the child realizes that they are still the same person with the same issues, it’s often too late to reverse the process of gender transition. Let’s not be cowed by low-information SJWs. Speak up, try to initiate dialogue – sadly, I haven’t had any takers yet – and let the chips fall where they may.
