Standing at 81 feet tall, the National Monument to the Forefathers in Plymouth, Massachusetts, is the largest freestanding solid-granite monument in the United States. Completed in 1889, the statue is a tribute to the Pilgrims and a roadmap for returning America to its constitutional roots by representing key principles of our country’s founding: Faith, Morality, Law, Education, and Liberty.

The monument’s design embodies the foundational principles that guided the Pilgrims and later influenced American governance. The central figure, Faith, stands at 36 feet tall, holding a Geneva Bible and pointing towards heaven, symbolizing religious conviction as a guiding force vital for societal harmony, national unity, and purpose. Surrounding Faith are four seated figures representing Morality, Law, Education, and Liberty—each integral to maintaining a free society.

Morality: This figure underscores ethical conduct and personal integrity, which leads to ethical governance and societal trust, crucial for democracy

Law: This figure represents justice and order and highlights the importance of protecting freedom through constitutional governance.

Education: Emphasizing knowledge and enlightenment, this figure points to education as a cornerstone for informed citizenship.

Liberty: This figure embodies freedom from oppression and tyranny, depicted with broken shackles and a sheathed sword.

The National Monument to the Forefathers is more than a historical landmark. It provides a blueprint for returning America to its constitutional roots. The Pilgrims’ journey and settlement were driven by a quest for religious freedom and self-governance—principles that later influenced the U.S. Constitution.

I highly recommend visiting this awesome structure, especially as we navigate the tearing down of oppressive government bureaucracy and build a new system where freedom and liberty prevail.
